Police Blotter: Greenfield Police K9 Unit Helps in Shooting Investigation

The Greenfield Police Department assisted the Milwaukee Police Department in the apprehension of a suspect who was allegedly fired gun shots Sunday night near 89th Street and Howard Avenue. 

According to the department, the suspect was located near at 92nd Street and Howard Avenue by Milwaukee police. 

Badger, a Greenfield Police canine, tracked back from where the suspect was located and found a loaded handgun and some clothing the suspect disbarred while fleeing the scene, according to police.

The following are more incidents reported in the department's police log from May 23-29: 

  • A lawn ornament was stolen in the 4600 block of South 113th Street between May 21-23. The lawn ornament was described as a 1970 blue Schwinn bicycle.
  • A radio and other items were stolen from a vehicle in the 3600 block of South 47th Street. The theft was reported on May 23. 
  • A 21-year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman were taken into custody for alleged retail theft at , 4200 S. 76 St., at 4 p.m. May 23. 
  • A woman was taken into custody for an open Dodge County warrant after she reported a stolen television at her residence in the 7000 block of West Forest Home at 6:15 p.m. May 23. 
  • A 20-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man were cited for underage drinking in the 4600 block of South 84th Street at 10:15 p.m. May 23. 
  • A 43-year-old man was taken into custody for disorderly conduct after allegedly punching his girlfriend in the 4800 block of South 43rd Street at 10:30 p.m. May 23. 
  • A 20-year-old man was taken into custody for allegedly fighting with a woman in the 5400 block of South Tuckaway Court at 1 a.m. May 24. 
  • A 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old man were taken into custody for retail theft at , 4601 S. 27th St., at 11:15 a.m. May 24. 
  • A television and lawnmower were stolen from the 3200 block of South 43rd Street at 1:30 p.m. May 24. The owners were moving from the building when the thefts occurred. 
  • A 19-year-old woman was taken into custody for alleged retail theft at , 4200 S. 76th St., at 6:30 p.m. May 24. 
  • A drain cover, handles to the outside bathroom door and sink knobs were among the various items stolen from , 7631 W. Layton Ave. The theft was reported at 9 p.m. May 24. 
  • Copper piping worth about $9,000 was taken from Pieper Electric, 3997 W. Loomis Road. The theft was reported at noon on May 25. 
  • A house in the 4900 block of South 78th Street was broken into and vandalized. The crime was reported at 2 p.m. May 25.
  • A 19-year-old woman was taken into custody for alleged retail theft at , 4200 S. 76th St., at 6:45 p.m. May 25.
  • A 32-year-old was taken into custody for allegedly fighting at 10:30 a.m. May 26. The fight allegedly occurred in the 4000 block of South 35th Street.
  • Various tools, a bicycle and a cutting torch were stolen from Suburban Services, 11101 W. Layton Ave., between May 22 and May 23
  • A 41-year-old man was taken into custody for assaulting his son at the . The assault was reported at the police station at 5:30 p.m. May 26.
  • A wallet, purse and car keys were stolen from the , 11311 W. Howard Ave. The theft occurred at 5:45 p.m. May 26
  • A 19-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged retail theft at , 4200 S. 76 St., at 10 p.m. May 27.
  • A 19-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged disorderly conduct and underage drinking in the 5100 block of West Layton Avenue after a caller told police the man was pick-pocketing and attempting to steal a purse.
  • A 23-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged carrying a concealed weapon and possession of marijuana during a traffic stop at the corner of South 48th Street and West Euclid Avenue at 3 p.m. May 28.
  • A 29-year-old man was taken into custody for disorderly conduct after allegedly chasing and threatening to shoot a man near , 7401 West Barnard Ave., at 7 p.m. May 28. A 23-year-old man was cited at the scene for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A BMX bicycle was stolen from Dan Jansen Family Fest in . The theft was reported at 10:30 p.m. May 28.
  • A 41-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged drunk driving at the corner of West Loomis Road and West Layton Avenue at 9 p.m. May 28.
  • A 69-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged drunk driving at the corner of South 84th Street and West Layton Avenue at 2:30 a.m. May 29. 
  • Two doors were found jimmied and a safe was attempted to be opened at , 3840 W. Edgerton Ave. The break-in was reported at 2:30 p.m. May 29.
