Police Blotter: Jan. 10 - Jan. 16.

Reports from the Greenfield Police Department from the previous week.

Greenfield police stopped five individuals for alleged drunken driving between Jan. 10-16. They also warned a woman, who was found sleeping in her car and cited a man for allegedly threatening to burn a house down.

Police also are investigating theft of stereos from vehicles at a local auto dealership.

The following are more incidents reported in the department's police log from Jan. 10-16:

  • A light fixture was broken at , at 2:15 a.m. Jan. 10. A manager allegedly saw three people jump on the light fixture.
  • Four stereos were allegedly stolen from vehicles in the lot of ., between 5 p.m. Jan. 8 and 9 a.m. Jan. 10.
  • A 30-year-old was taken into custody for drug possession during a traffic stop in the 5000 block of West Layton Avenue at 8:45 p.m. Jan. 10.
  • A 40-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged drunken driving during a traffic stop in the 6700 block of West Layton Avenue at 1:30 a.m. Jan. 13. It is the man's third drunk driving arrest.
  • A 47-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged drug possession at the BP gas station, 12345 W. Layton Ave., at 8:30 p.m. Jan. 13. This after the man told the station attendant that he could not pay for $13.25 in gas.
  • A 49-year-old woman was allegedly found to be sleeping in a beige Impala in the 10300 block of West Beloit Avenue at 2 a.m. Jan. 14. Police, who believe the woman is homeless, told her to leave the area and if she returned, she would be arrested for prowling, according to the police report.
  • A 28-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged disorderly conduct after police saw him screaming at a woman in a vehicle in the 3500 block of South 43rd Street at 4 p.m. Jan. 14. The man was taken to the police station, booked, cited and released.
  • A 18-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged drug possession during a traffic stop in the 4100 block of South 43rd Street at 11:30 p.m. Jan. 14. The man was cited, booked and released.
  • A 39-year-old man was taken into custody for operating a vehicle while intoxicated during a traffic stop at the corner of South 108th Street and West Beloit Road at 2:15 a.m. Jan. 15. The man, who has a prior drunken driving offense, was cited and released.
  • A 33-year-old woman was taken into custody during a traffic stop for alleged drunken driving and drug possession in the 2700 block of West Grange Avenue at 3 a.m. Jan. 15. This is the first drunken driving offense for the woman. Β 
  • A 30-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged drunken driving in the 4500 block of South 84th Street at 7:15 a.m. Jan. 15. It is the man's first drunken driving offense.
  • A 41-year-old man was taken into custody for possessing cocaine during a traffic stop in the 3400 block of West Loomis Road at 9:30 p.m. Jan. 15. The man was booked and released.
  • A 26-year-old man was taken into custody during a traffic stop for alleged drunken driving in 10700 block of West Road at 2:45 a.m. Jan. 16. It is the man's second such offense. He was booked and released.
  • A 27-year-old man was taken into custody at 11:15 a.m. Jan. 16 for allegedly threatening to burn his house down in the 7600 block of West Coldspring Road. The man was cited for disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A 26-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged drug possession during a traffic stop in the 4900 block of South 76th Street at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 16. The man was booked and released.
