Police Blotter: Man Allegedly Tries Shoplifting From Same Store Days Apart

When he returned two days later, he was not as fortunate.

According to the Greenfield police report, the man was apprehended while attempting to conceal items from the store Jan. 9, just as the store’s security team was reviewing video from two days earlier when the same man was successful in his alleged shoplifting attempt.

He was arrested for alleged retail theft.

  • A 62-year-old man was taken into custody in the 5400 block of South 27th Street at approximately 7:45 p.m. Jan. 9, for allegedly operating while intoxicated. If convicted, it will be his first offense.
  • An employee at , 4600 S. 108th Street, called police Jan. 10, about Recall Walker petitioners who had set up a signing area in front of the business on the sidewalk. The employee was concerned with people who wanted to sign the petition parking in the business’s parking lot.
  • A 25-year-old woman was taken into custody for allegedly operating while intoxicated (drugs) after a traffic stop in the 4700 block of South 27th Street at approximately 12:45 a.m. Jan. 12. It was also discovered she had a warrant with the Greendale Police Department.
  • Between 11 a.m. Jan. 12 and 9:45 a.m. Jan. 13, the Greenfield Police Department responded to as many as 16 accident calls and several disabled vehicle calls related to the .
  • A 28-year-old man was found sleeping behind the wheel of his vehicle at the intersection of West Loomis Road and Howard Avenue at 5:55 p.m. Jan. 14. He was arrested for allegedly operating while intoxicated; if convicted, it will be his first offense.
  • A female pedestrian was allegedly struck by a truck with a snow plow at the intersection of South 84th Street and West Layton Avenue at 3:20 p.m. Jan. 15. The woman suffered cuts and bruises on her ankles.
