Police Blotter: Man Arrested for Asking For Ride to Airport at 3:30 A.M.

That and other reports from the Greenfield Police Department from May 9-15.

Greenfield Police took a 41-year-old man into custody for alleged disorderly conduct, prowling and loud and unnecessary noise at 3:45 a.m. May 11.

The man supposedly began knocking on doors asking residents for a ride to the airport in the 3000 block of West Colony Drive.

The man was wearing all black and told those who answered their front door that his vehicle broke down.

He was booked, cited and released.

The following are more incidents reported in the department's police log from May 9-15:

  • A vehicle in the 4400 block of South 51st Street was egged during the evening of May 8.
  • A 38-year-old woman was taken into custody for alleged theft at , 4200 S. 76th St., at 3:15 p.m. May 9. 
  • A 35-year-old woman was taken into custody for allegedly attacking her 17-year-old daughter. The daughter came to the police station to report the incident at 4 p.m. May 9.
  • A 17-year-old man was taken into custody during a traffic stop for possession of drug paraphernalia and a knife at the corner of South 51st Street and West Bottsford Avenue at 10:30 p.m. May 9. 
  • A 17-year-old man was taken into custody for allegedly fighting with a woman in the 4700 block of South 68th Street at 11:30 p.m. May 10. 
  • A 22-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged retail theft at , 4610 S. 76th St., at 4 p.m. May 10.
  • A garage was tagged with graffiti in the 4600 block of West Morgan Avenue during the afternoon of May 10. 
  • A wallet and a movie were taken from a purse in , 4296 S. 76th St., at 10:45 p.m. May 10. Credit cards were used at numerous businesses, according to the police report. 
  • A 25-year-old woman was taken into custody for alleged drunk driving at the corner of South 108th Street and West Cold Spring Road at 3:15 a.m. May 11.  
  • About $475 of liquor was stolen from , 4200 S. 76th St., on May 11, according to a store official who notified police of the theft the next day.
  • A 24-year-old man was taken into custody at 10:30 p.m. May 12 after allegedly attempting to suffocate his girlfriend with a pillow and pushing her.
  • Lawn ornaments were stolen in the 10000 block of West Howard Avenue. The theft was reported during the afternoon of May 13. 
  • A 24-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia at Applebee's, 5100 S. 76th St., where he is an employee, at 2:30 p.m. May 13. A fellow employee told police they saw the man bleeding from his mouth. The manager told police that another employee saw the man shoot up heroin.
  • A 23-year-old woman was taken into custody for alleged drunk driving at the corner of South 84th Street and West Howard Avenue at 1:30 a.m. May 14. 
  • A 21-year-old man was taken into custody for allegedly threatening his ex-girlfriend with a crowbar, saying he was going to kill her at her place of employment at 11:30 a.m. May 14. 
  • A vehicle was broken into and a purse was taken from it in the parking lot of the , 5020 S. 110th St., at 10 a.m. May 15. 
  • A total of $50 was taken from a wallet in a locker that was broken into at the , 11311 W. Howard Ave., at noon on May 15. 
  • Parts from a 2002 Grand Prix were stolen from under the hood in the 4900 block of West Midland Drive between 9:30 p.m. May 14 and 1:30 p.m. May 15.
