Police Blotter: Man Attacks Landlord with Umbrella; Drunk Driver Drives on Sidewalk

This and other reports from the Greenfield Police Department from June 20-26.

A 25-year-old man was taken into custody for allegedly attacking a landlord with an umbrella in the 9000 block of West Waterford Square at 9:15 p.m. June 21. 

The next night, in an unrelated incident, a 32-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged drunk driving at the corner of West Loomis Road and West Layton Avenue at midnight on June 22.

The man reportedly was driving his truck on the sidewalk.

Those were two of the more bizarre incidents reported in the Greenfield Police Department's log from June 20-26:

  • Two vehicles were broken into at the , 11311 W. Howard Ave. The break-ins were reported at 10 a.m. June 20. 
  • Tires were stolen from Greenfield Pontiac, 3615 S. 108th St. The theft was reported at 11 a.m. June 20.
  • A 28-year-old man was taken into custody for allegedly attempting to return a stolen item to , 4601 S. 27th St. at 6:15 p.m. June 20. 
  • A 30-year-old man was taken into custody for possession of drug paraphernalia at , 3390 W. Loomis Road, at 10:30 p.m. June 20. The man, who reportedly was locked in the bathroom for 20 minutes, was highly intoxicated.  
  • A wallet, $6,000 in cash and car keys were stolen from a residence in the 9000 block of West Howard Avenue. The theft was reported on June 21. 
  • Jewelry was stolen during a burglary in the 11800 block of West Cold Spring Road during the afternoon of June 21. 
  • A 20-year-old was taken into custody for alleged retail theft at , 4200 S. 76th St., at 4 p.m. June 22. 
  • A 20-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged possession of marijuana and schedule II narcotics during a traffic stop in the 3600 block of West Loomis Avenue at 11 p.m. June 23. 
  • Three juveniles were taken into custody for allegedly stealing a GPS system and a stereo from a vehicle in the 8300 block of West Howard Avenue. The theft was reported at 4 a.m. June 24. 
  • Two tires were stolen from a vehicle at the Loomis Park n' Ride, 3997 W. Loomis Ave. The theft was reported at 4:15 p.m. June 24.
  • A 31-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man were taken into custody for alleged possession of marijuana during a traffic stop in the 4600 block of South 27th Street at 10:30 p.m. June 24. 
  • A vehicle was broken into at the , 11311 W. Howard Ave. The incident was reported at 10 p.m. June 25.
  • A 51-year-old woman was taken into custody for allegedly driving drunk in the 6100 block of South 27th Street at 12:30 a.m. June 26.
  • A 30-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged drunk driving in the 5300 block of West Layton Avenue at 2:15 a.m. June 26. 
  • A stereo was taken from a vehicle in the 4700 block of S. 76th Street. The theft was reported at 8 p.m. June 26.
