Police Blotter: Man Comes Home to Mistakenly Removed Shrubs

This and other reports from the Greenfield Police Department from Aug. 22- Aug. 28.

A 52-year-old homeowner in the 3600 block of South 32nd Street came home from work one day last week to find landscapers cutting down his bushes, according to the report. 

The man, however, did not hire the landscapers to cut down his bushes. According to the police report, they had the wrong address. 

They were supposed to cut down his neighbor's bushes instead,
according to the homeowner. 

The landscapers also damaged the man's air conditioner, according to the police report. 

Greenfield police told the homeowner that the case does not meet the criteria for criminal damage and that it is a civil matter.

  • A 25-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged possession of marijuana with intent to deliver during a traffic stop at the corner of South 40th Street and West Howard Avenue at 1 a.m. Aug. 22.
  • A white Chevrolet Astro van was stolen from , 3939 S. 92nd St. The theft was reported during the morning of Aug. 22. 
  • A rock was thrown through the windshield of a Ford Mustang in the 4800 block of South 72nd Street. The damage was reported Aug. 22.
  • A BMX bicycle was stolen at the corner of South 45th Street and West Anthony Drive at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 22.
  • A 18-year-old man was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs after a traffic accident in the 4200 block of South 108th Street at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 23. 
  • A 17-year-old man, a 20-year-old man and a juvenile were taken into custody for their alleged involvement in a physical attack of a juvenile girl at the corner of South 45th Street and West Anthony Drive during the evening of Aug. 23. 
  • A freezer and mixer were stolen from the back of , 3740 S. 108th St. The theft was reported on Aug. 24.
  • A 40-year-old man came to the police station to report that his neighbor's sprinkler sprayed water into his kitchen in the 4500 block of South 43rd Street on Aug. 25. The man wanted to document the incident if there is a future civil case.  
  • Two occupants of a green sport vehicle at , 4651 S. 27th St., at 2:45 p.m. Aug. 25. 
  • A 42-year-old man was arrested for alleged possession of marijuana during a traffic stop in the 5300 block of South 27th Street at 3 a.m. Aug. 26. 
  • A screen was torn off a window and graffiti was found at , 3550 S. 51st St. The vandalism was reported during the morning of Aug. 26. 
  • A 58-year-old woman was taken into custody for alleged shoplifting at , 4601 S. 27th St., at 11:45 a.m. Aug. 26. 
  • A 52-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged drunk driving at the corner of West Edgerton Avenue and West Loomis Road at 1:30 a.m. Aug. 28. 
  • A 24-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged drunk driving at the corner of South 68th Street and West Layton Avenue at 2:30 a.m. Aug. 28.
