Police Blotter: Police Investigate Home Burglaries

One woman reported four necklaces and a bracelet were taken from her home the night of Valentine's Day.

A woman in the 3200 block of South 45th Street reported someone had entered her home through a bedroom window sometime between 8 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. and took four necklaces and one bracelet Feb. 14.

That same night, a woman in the 4400 block of West Anthony Drive reported her home had been broken into sometime before 10 p.m. Feb. 14.

Those and the following incidents were recorded in the Greenfield Police Department log for the week of Feb. 11-17:

  • A 29-year-old man was arrested for drunk driving at Motel 6 near the airport after an employee at the BP gas station in Greenfield reported the man appeared to have been asleep or passed out in his vehicle before driving off at 2:30 a.m. Feb. 11.
  • A woman waiting for a bus at the intersection of South 76th Street and Layton Avenue told police she was struck by the side mirror of a red truck with a bumper sticker that read “I remember Korea” at 3:15 p.m. Feb. 11.
  • An employee at Red Lobster, 4645 S. 76th St. told police her iPhone 4 was stolen while she was working sometime before 4:45 p.m. Feb. 11.
  • A man in the 4700 block of West Van Beck Avenue told police his garage had been burglarized sometime before 2 p.m. Feb. 13.
  • A man was arrested for third offense drunk driving in the 6500 block of West Edgerton Avenue at 2:05 a.m. Feb. 14.
  • A 21-year-old man was arrested in the 4100 block of West Hillcrest Drive for violating his restraining order at 6:10 a.m. Feb. 14.
  • A 26-year-old man was arrested for retail theft and resisting arrest after reportedly stealing items from Kmart, 4601 S. 27th St., fleeing the store and being chased by security at 1:40 p.m. Feb. 14.
  • A Greenfield High School student reported the back taillight of her 1995 Ford Mustang was smashed out while parked in the parking lot sometime before 2:30 p.m. Feb. 14.
  • A woman in the 4000 block of South 35th Street reported her 20-year-old boyfriend hit her and refused to give back her property at 10 p.m. Feb. 15. The man was arrested for domestic violence – battery.
  • A man reported his car’s passenger side windows were smashed and his girlfriend’s purse taken while it was parked in the 4200 block of South 27th Street sometime before 10 p.m. Feb. 15.
  • A man in the 4700 block of South 27th St. reported the passenger window on his vehicle was smashed out and the vehicle’s stereo taken sometime between 9 p.m. Feb. 15 and 4 p.m. Feb. 16.
  • A 20-year-old was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia while he was parked in the Sonic parking lot, 4763 S. 27th St., at 3:15 p.m. Feb. 17.
