Police Blotter: Drug Possession Makes Up Majority of Incidents

Read about incidents the Greenfield Police Department investigated from May 31-June 5.

The following incidents were reported in the Greenfield Police Department's police log from May 31-June 5:

  • A 34-year-old man was cited for allegedly making inappropriate gestures to officers at the corner of South 60th Street and West Layton Avenue at 6 a.m. May 31. 
  • A 25-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were taken into custody for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop at the corner of West Howard Avenue and South Prairie Hill Lane at 12:30 p.m. May 31. 
  • A 20-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged possession of marijuana during a traffic stop at the corner of South 74th Street and West Squire Avenue at 3 p.m. May 31.
  • A 27-year-old man was taken into custody after allegedly physically abusing his wife at noon May 31. The man turned himself in at the police station. 
  • A 31-year-old woman was found unresponsive by a contractor in the 4900 block of South 43rd Street at 10:45 p.m. May 31. Officers gained access to the residence through a side door and found the woman unresponsive but breathing. After the woman came to, she was taken into custody for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia. 
  • A 29-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were taken into custody for alleged possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia after police found them intoxicated and sleeping in a maroon vehicle in a parking lot in the 9000 block of West Howard Avenue at 6 a.m. June 1.  
  • A 20-year-old man and a 22-year-old man were taken into custody for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop in the 5400 block of South 27th Street at 5 p.m. June 1. The 22-year-old was also taken into custody for alleged possession of marijuana.
  • A 22-year-old man and two 20-year-old men were taken into custody for alleged possession of marijuana during a traffic stop in the 5300 block of South 76th Street at 8:30 p.m. June 1. The Franklin Police Department K-9 unit responded for mutual aid. 
  • A 36-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop in at the corner of South 52nd Street and West Howard Avenue at 5:45 p.m. June 2. 
  • A 30-year-old man and and a 22-year-old man were taken into custody for alleged drug possession during a traffic stop at the corner of South 43rd Street and West Forest Home Avenue at 7:45 p.m. June 2. The pair were allegedly in possession of marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy and a schedule 1 narcotic. 
  • A 15-year-old boy reported to police that he was assaulted by two boys who took his backpack in between 4 and 4:30 p.m. June 2. The boy, who came to the police station to report the crime, later told police that he was making the story up to cover up the fact that he lost his backpack. 
  • A 21-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged possession of marijuana during a traffic stop in the 3300 block of South 108th Street at 10 p.m. June 2. 
  • A 36-year-old man was taken into custody for alleged drunk driving in the 7600 block of West Interstate 43 during a traffic stop at 1 a.m. June 3. 
  • The neighbor of a 57-year-old man in the 6200 block of West Plainfield Avenue admitted sticking gum onto his truck's door handle after he called her at 1 a.m. June 3 to tell her to cut her grass. The woman, however, denied attempting to open the vehicle. 
  • A 20-year-old woman was taken into custody for alleged possession of marijuana during a traffic stop at the corner of South 60th Street and West Layton Avenue at 11 p.m. June 3. 
  • A 25-year-old man was found slumped over in the driver's seat in the 7500 block of West Cold Spring Road at 3:45 a.m. June 4. The man was taken into custody for alleged drunk driving. 
  • An iPhone was stolen from a vehicle parked at the , 11311 W. Howard Ave., between 10:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. June 3. 
  • A 26-year-old man was taken into custody for drunk driving in the 4300 block of West Loomis Road at 1:45 a.m. June 5. 
  • A 20-year-old man reported to police that his wallet and phone were stolen from his vehicle while he played basketball at , 5000 South 116th St., between 5 and 7 p.m. June 5. It was later learned that the man actually left his pants, with his wallet and phone in the pockets, on top of his vehicle when he drove away. Hales Corners Police recovered the items in the 11300 block of West Edgerton Avenue.
