Police Blotter: Two Men Make Way Into Elderly Woman's Home

An elderly Greenfield woman told police that two males entered her home in the 4000 block of South 103rd Street at 11:45 am. May 29, after telling her they were there to do some work on her driveway.

An elderly Greenfield woman told police that two males entered her home in the 4000 block of South 103rd Street at 11:45 am. May 29, after telling her they were there to do some work on her driveway.

Both men went through her open closet doors, but it was unknown if anything was taken.

The men then left in a silver van after their β€œboss” arrived.

That and the following incidents were in the log for the week of May 28 through June 1:

  • A 24-year-old woman was cited for operating after suspension and possessing open intoxicants in a motor vehicle during a traffic stop in the 8900 block of West Layton Avenue just after midnight May 28.
  • A 35-year-old woman was advised to fix or replace the lock on a garage door she allegedly had a friend drill out after she and her landlord both lost their garage door openers in the 3400 block of South 45th Street at 12:45 p.m. May 28.
  • An iPhone 4 was reported stolen at Pacific Produce, 5455 S. 27th Street at 1:15 p.m. May 28.
  • An employee at , 4405 W. Loomis Rd. reported that two subjects were in the business and took cigarettes and cigars before fleeing on foot at 4 a.m. May 29.
  • A resident reported her 1999 silver Honda Civic was stolen sometime between May 27 and 1 a.m. May 29 from the 8800 block of West Waterford Square.
  • A laptop was reported stolen out of an unlocked vehicle in the 4100 block of West Loomis Road at 4 p.m. May 29.
  • A pair of 19-year-old men were arrested for alleged prowling after officers found them in the back yards of residences in the 4500 block of West Abbott Avenue at 11:45 a.m. May 30.
  • A 19-year-old man and 18-year-old were arrested for alleged possession of marijuana during a traffic stop in the 4600 block of South 76th Street at 4:15 p.m. May 30. The 19-year-old was also arrested for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A resident in the 9000 block of West Howard Avenue reported his 1999 Plymouth Voyager minivan was stolen during the night May 30.
  • A student was taken into custody at the school for alleged possession of marijuana at 10 a.m. June 1.
  • Two juveniles were cited for retail theft after allegedly shop lifting an air soft gun from , 5070 S. 74th Street at 11:40 a.m. June 1.
