Police Looking for Suspects in Separate Armed Robberies

Both robberies occurred on 27th Street, but appear unrelated.

The Greenfield Police Department is investigating a pair of weekend robberies, one of which might be a repeat offense.

At approximately 2 a.m. Monday morning, a masked suspect forced the clerk at at 27th Street and Ramsey Avenue to open the cash drawers and give him money. He then demanded the clerk lay on the floor as he fled, according to the .

The suspect held a covered object in his hand, claiming it was a gun, according to Det. Sergeant Mike Brunner, who said a similar incident occurred at the same location July 27.

"In both cases, the suspect was masked with a ski mask or something like it, wore a dark, black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up on his head, with dark pants and dark shoes,” Brunner said. “The first time, he said he was armed but had whatever he was holding covered with a cloth.”

Ken’s Shell was also robbed in April and August.

“Unfortunately, for whatever reason, that gas station gets hit quite a bit,” Brunner said. “I don’t know if it seems isolated, or if it’s because it’s open 24 hours a day.”

BP customer also robbed

Greenfield Police are also investigating an armed robbery reported at , 4715 S. 27th Street.

At approximately 4:45 p.m., a victim purchased a soda inside the gas station before pulling his vehicle around the back of the building in order to get a car wash, according to Brunner.

The victim was approached by two male suspects. One asked him for a light of a cigarette, the other pulled out a semi-automated pistol, pointed it at the suspect and demanded money.

The victim gave cash to the suspects, who were last seen on foot running toward and .
