Police: Man Spits in Officer's Face at Scott E's Pub

Matthew Holsten of Milwaukee was charged with a felony Monday, two days after he allegedly became intoxicated, refused to leave the bar and then resisted arrest.

A 35-year-old Milwaukee man faces felony charges after allegedly spat in a Greenfield police officer's face while resisting arrest. 

On Monday, Matthew Holsten was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court with one felony count of discharging a bodily fluid at a public safety worker and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.

According to the report, police officers responded to at approximately 2:30 a.m. June 23, after an employee reported an intoxicated patron who refused to leave and attempting to pick fights with other customers.

The man, later identified as Holsten, also allegedly exposed himself to a female employee while urinating in the parking lot.

Police arrested Holsten for disorderly conduct. He then swore at and verbally threatened police officers as they tried to place him in the police car. As police attempted to secure him in the back seat, he allegedly spit in an officer’s face.

While being transferred from the squad to a transport van, Holsten continued to be belligerent and threaten officers.
