Porsche Thief Leaves Behind ID, Police Say

Dajuan Williams of Milwaukee is accused of stealing a Porsche SUV from Diamond Jim's in Greenfield on July 20.

A 24-year-old Milwaukee man made himself easy to identify and track down after police say he stole a Porsche SUV from a used car dealership in Greenfield late last month.

Dajuan Williams was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on July 25 with felony car theft after police say he took a 2006 Porsche Cayenne from Diamond Jim’s Motor Cars, 5265 S. 27th St.

According to the criminal complaint, a Diamond Jim’s sales associate met Williams in the sales parking lot July 20. At the time, Williams said he was on the phone with his accountant. He then told the sales associate he was going to pick up a check for $19,000 to purchase the Porsche.

The vehicle was brought around for a test drive, and while the initial sales associate took Williams’ identification card to make a copy and draw up sales papers, he asked another to take Williams on a test drive.

When they returned, the sales associate got out of the car, and Williams drove off, leaving his ID back at the dealership.

The next day, Greenfield police used the ID to track down Williams’ uncle, who told them he saw Williams the day before with the Porsche. He said his nephew is a car thief who steals vehicles, rides them around “show boating,” and then ditches them.

On July 22, Williams was arrested by the Mequon Police Department, after officers saw the Porsche and pulled him over.

Williams, a convicted felon, is also charged with felony bail jumping. If convicted of both charges, he faces maximum fines of $20,000, 12 years of imprisonment, or both.
