Red Cross Offers Assistance to Those Displaced by Fire

A fire Wednesday afternoon displaced 15 people, according to the organization.

Fifteen individuals were displaced by Wednesday’s Greenfield Park Apartment , according to the American Red Cross.

“Red Cross was there to offer assistance, but thankfully, everyone had renters insurance and a place to stay,” said Gina Trimboli, the development and communications coordinator for American Red Cross in Southeastern Wisconsin. “We did provide health services for the displaced individuals and will be offering assistance down the road.”

Trimboli said specific help provided by the Red Cross will largely be determined as the displaced individuals figure out what they need. She said help could come in the form of assistance with their insurance companies.

Trimboli said the Red Cross does not collect donations for victims of disasters or tragedies, but suggested those who want to donate items find a church or local civic organization that will collect and store things for the displaced.

She said the Red Cross also accepts monetary donations but added money donated does not go toward specific tragedies. To donate online, click here.
