Roads Relatively Safe During Snowfall

Eight crashes called in during Monday's snow, two more than the average day.

The Greenfield Police Department responded to eight automobile crashes between noon Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday, according to Deputy Inspector Brad Wentlandt.

Snow started falling on the area around mid-morning Monday and lasted well into the evening. Streets were slick throughout the day despite the city's efforts to keep them salted and plowed.

According to Wentlandt, however, the snow did not cause a large spike in accidents; he said the city averages six crashes per day.
