Suspects in Custody After Armed Robbery at Cell Phone Store

Two Milwaukee men allegedly beat an employee at the AT&T Store on 76th Street on Friday and made off with several high-end cell phones. Both were apprehended this week.

Two Milwaukee men are in custody and awaiting charges after an armed robbery of the AT&T Store, 5017 S. 76th Street on Friday night.

According to Greenfield Police Chief Brad Wentlandt, at 8 p.m. March 9, Greenfield dispatchers received a call of a hold-up alarm from the store and subsequently received a 911 call from the business reporting a robbery.

Two male suspects, one 17 and the other 21, entered the store and ordered customers and employees to raise their hands, displaying an object that looked like a gun. One of the suspects then punched an employee several times in the face and ordered him to turn over several high-end cell phones before both suspects fled.

The employee refused medical treatment.

One suspect was arrested Tuesday after a probation agent who works out of the emailed photos from store surveillance to fellow agents in the area. One of those agents recognized the suspect.

The second suspect was arrested Wednesday night by the Milwaukee Police Department arrested him on a temporary felony warrant.

The case will be reviewed by the district attorney's office tomorrow.
