Theft Suspect Continues to Target Automatic Flushers

A man who has targeted automatic flush valves off of toilets and urinals continues to hit local restaurants and college campuses.

Sgt. Ray Radakovich of the Greenfield Police Department told TMJ4 that a man, who the news station has dubbed the “Backpack Bathroom Bandit,” has stolen automatic flushers from at least 20 bathrooms with parts valued at more than $30,000.

Restaurants and college campuses in Brookfield, Pewaukee, Milwaukee, West Allis and Greenfield have been victimized, Radakovich said.

Police now have video of the suspect, as seen in the TMJ4 report.

It is believed the man in the video is responsible for similar thefts that occurred at McDonald’s on 27th Street in early October. On Oct. 22, the same man reportedly took similar parts from McDonald’s on 76th Street and ITT Technical Institute, totaling nearly $4,300.
