A Greenfield woman, whose daughter had missed 19 of 75 school days, is accused of forging fake doctor’s notes that excused her child’s absences.

According to the Greenfield Police Department report, Greenfield Middle School Principal Brad Iding told police that after 10 absences, it is required by the school that a doctor’s note is required indicating the reason and medical excuse for the absence. He told police the woman had provided the doctor’s notes for her 12-year-old daughter, but questioned their validity.

One such note he received from the student’s 28-year-old mother came from Aurora Health Care, 6901 W. Edgerton Ave. and excused absences from Dec. 4-10, but when the clinic confirmed the note only excused absences for Dec. 6-7.

Another series of notes were turned in with a doctor’s signature from the Lakeshore Medical Clinic Women’s Pavilion in West Allis, but that doctor denied having ever seen the woman’s daughter as a patient.

The woman admitted to police she turned in at least four non-genuine doctor notes because she was concerned about her daughter’s truancy problems. She was cited for disorderly conduct.
