Woman Strikes Light Pole, Urinates in Back of Squad, Police Say

A 21-year-old Milwaukee woman urinated in the back seat of a Greenfield police car after police say she crashed into a light pole and was arrested for driving under the influence Nov. 27.

According to the Greenfield Police Department report, the woman and a 29-year-old male passenger were driving northbound on South 35th Street, when the woman swerved to the left, went over the curb, traveled a short distance on the grass and then struck a light pole.

When police arrived, the female passenger tried several times to open her door but was unsuccessful because, despite a police officer telling her the door was locked, she did not realize it. It was not until another Greenfield police officer unlocked it that she was able to open the door.

The woman told police they had been to two bars but said she had not had much to drink. She was arrested, and while she was being transported back to the police station, she urinated in the backseat, which resulted in a disorderly conduct citation.

She registered a .25 breath alcohol content on a preliminary breath test.

As a result of her vehicle striking the light pole, the light fixture on the pole fell off and broke on the ground. The front bumper of the Cadillac four-door sedan the woman was driving fell off but the vehicle suffered only minor damage.

The woman suffered a small laceration to her nose. The passenger was not hurt.
