Woman Tells Police Walmart Wouldn't Miss Money She Stole

The employee was caught on tape taking money from her register on more than one occasion.

A 20-year-old Milwaukee woman told police she didn’t need the hundreds of dollars she took from her employer, but that she was tempted by the large amount of money in front of her and didn’t think Walmart would miss it.

According to the Greenfield Police Department report, the woman was arrested Oct. 16, after a fellow Walmart employee told police the woman was caught on video surveillance taking $100 from her cash register at the former

Police were told that the 20-year-old was caught on tape taking money Oct. 6, Oct. 10, Oct. 11 and Oct. 13 as well, a total of $500.

The woman admitted to police she took the money after she was informed she was caught on an overhead camera overlooking the registers.

The woman, who has no criminal history, was issued a citation and ordered to pay restitution.

Hmmm.... Somebody should invent a way that a cash register keeps some kind of record of how much money is suppose to be in it. This would then eliminate the need for all these cameras that are hanging over them.

Where was the cashier? Was the drawer left open? Did the perpetrator jump over the counter? How could this happen?

@Carolyn: You didn't read the story. The woman who stole the money from Walmart was an employee from Walmart and she took the money from her own cash register.
