Woman Tries to Elude Officer While Missing a Tire, Police Say

Police say drunken driving charges are pending a blood-alcohol test for a 30-year-old Milwaukee woman with three previous OWI convictions.

Driving recklessly or erratically will probably get you noticed by police in Greenfield.

Doing so without a tire is a surefire way to get yourself pulled over.

Just ask 30-year-old Amanda Luke of Milwaukee, who was charged with one count of felony eluding an officer and operating a vehicle with a revoked license in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Tuesday.

According to court documents, on Saturday, July 27, a Greenfield Police Department officer saw Luke driving a dark-colored SUV driving on three tires and one of its metal rims near the intersection of 60th Street and Howard Avenue.

When the officer turned on his lights while Luke was stopped at a stoplight, she drove off, squealing her tires – or at least, the three she had.

The officer followed Luke, according to the criminal complaint, at speeds of approximately 35 mph for about a mile before she pulled over.

Charges for Luke’s fourth drunken driving offense are pending results of a blood-alcohol test, according to police.

Luke faces $12,500 in fines and a maximum of 4 ½ years of imprisonment, not including any additional punishments should she be charged and found guilty of drunken driving.

The criminal complaint does not explain how Luke flattened or lost her tire.
