City Picks Date for Initial Farmers Market

The market will be held throughout the summer at Konkel Park.

The much anticipated Greenfield Farmers Market has an official start date.

According to Greenfield’s Health Director Darren Rausch, the Greenfield Farmers Market Planning Committee was overwhelmed with responses from the online community interest survey. Based on feedback from both the community and the potential vendors, the city has picked Sunday, June 23, for its initial market.

The farmers market will run weekly through the last weekend of October. The market will be held at Konkel Park, 5151 W. Layton Ave., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be a meeting in May, time and date to be determined, for those community members who expressed interest in participating on the committee or in volunteering.

The city is still seeking vendor participation, specifically those who specialize in produce, coffee and bakery good. Potential or interested vendors in these categories should visit the farmers market website, and download and return the vendor interest form.
