Election 2011: James D. Palmar, Common Council

Former alderperson wants his seat back.

Former alderperson James D. Palmar, 5001 S. 68th St., is seeking to take the reigns from incumbent Thomas Pietrowski in District 2.

Palmar said his top priority, if elected, would be “providing a level of services that’s acceptable to the community while reducing the tax burden on residents.”

Palmar said he has developed a plan for doing so that would include reviewing all expenditures, researching money-saving measures and meeting with department heads to discuss ideas for cutting costs.

“I want to team build," he said. "I want to work with the employees, the department heads and the residents to solve any of their problems or concerns.

“Right now I think we need a fresh set of eyes to deal with all the funding issues and shortfalls."
