Election 2011: Linda Lubotsky, Common Council

District 1 alderperson running unopposed for second term.

Despite running unopposed, District 1 Alderperson Linda Lubotsky, 4801 W. Howard Ave., has an ambitious list of priorities for what will be her second term on the city's Common Council.

Among them is maintaining the city’s services and public safety while keeping property taxes under control.

“It really costs to own a home these days,” Lubotsky said. “Not only have home values fallen, leaving nearly one quarter of residential mortgages under water, but also, local governments around the country have increased property taxes to make up for declining revenue from other sources.”
