Army Community Covenant Signing

The Intergovernmental Cooperation Council of Milwaukee County, of which Greenfield is a member, will sign a community covenant with the U.S. Army Milwaukee
Recruiting Battalion on Monday, Nov. 14, at 1:30 p.m.

All 20 metropolitan Milwaukee communities that make up the ICC will take part in the covenant signing, which wiil take place in the Mary Heritage Room at Wheaton
Franciscan Healthcare, 10101 S. 27th Street, Franklin.

The community covenant is a formal commitment of support by the ICC communities to soldiers and their families. The ceremony recognizes the strength of Soldiers' families is supported by the strength of the ICC communities.

All members of the ICC will sign the covenant. Retired Maj. Gen. Paul Lima, Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army for Wisconsin and Lt. Col. Frank P. O'Donnell, commander of the U.S. Army Milwaukee Recruiting Battalion, will co-sign the document as leaders of the Army.

The Army program was launched on April 17, 2008, with a signing ceremony in Columbus, Ga., with the Fort Benning community. Since then, more than 700 community covenants have been signed by community members
in all 50 states, three territories and the District of Columbia. The program includes recognition of all service members and their families.

  • Supporting legislation to improve transition services to soldiers and their families in ICC Communities.
