Read on to see some of the interest groups and individuals who gave the most to Sens. Mary Lazich and Tim Carpenter and Reps. Peggy Krusick and Jeff Stone. Information in MAPLight.org’s Top 10 lists for the candidates, outlined below, does not include contributions from political parties or other candidates. MAPLight.org compiles information on financial contributions to politicians.

Sen. Tim Carpenter, D- Milwaukee, received $26,059 toward his political campaigns from Jan. 1, 2007 and Dec. 31, 2010. The top interest groups contributing to his campaigns were health professionals ($6,860), retail sales ($2,300) and civil servants/public employees ($1,600). His top individual contributors were Wisconsin Credit Union League Action Fund WCULAF, WEAC PAC  Walmart Stores PAC and G Leblanc Corporation, which each gave $1,000.

Sen. Mary Lazich, R-New Berlin, received $59,211 toward her political campaigns between Jan. 1, 2007 and Dec. 31, 2010. The top interest groups contributing to her campaigns were health professionals ($12,511), insurance ($4,900) and hospitals/nursing homes ($3,200). Her top individual contributors were Dentist ($3,850), We Energies ($1,500) and Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance ($1,100).

Rep. Peggy Krusick, D- Milwaukee, received $2,450 between Jan. 1, 2009 and Dec. 31, 2010. The top interest groups contributing to her campaigns, were public sector unions (850), automotive ($400), insurance ($250) and building trade unions ($250). Her top individual contributors were Milwaukee Professional Firefighters 215 ($500) and the Wisconsin Insurance Alliance PAC, Milwaukee Police Association PAC, Plumbers and Gasfitters Local 75 and Braeger Chevrolet, which each gave $250.

Rep. Jeff Stone, R-Greendale, received $37,100 between Jan. 1, 2009 and Dec. 31, 2010. The top interest groups contributing to his campaigns, were real estate ($3,675), insurance ($3,225) and health professionals ($3,100). His top individual contributors were QPS Staffing ($1,000), Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance ($1,000) and CG Schmidt ($600).
