Walker Thanks Rep. Stone for Work on Voter ID Bill

Greenfield's representative in the Assembly wrote the bill that will be signed into law on May 25.

Senate Republicans approved State Rep. Jeff Stone's (R-Greendale) photo ID bill on Thursday that requires people to show photo ID at the polls.

Gov. Scott Walker thanked Stone Thursday for his leadership on getting a voter ID passed through the state Legislature.

Protecting the integrity of our elections is central to ensuring our government has the full faith and confidence of the citizens it represents. Requiring photo identification to vote will go a long way to eliminate the threat of voter fraud.  If you need an ID to buy cold medicine, it’s reasonable to require it to vote. I would like to thank Senator Leibham and Representative Stone for their years of leadership on this common sense piece of legislation.
