Shoe Store, Steakhouse Opening Soon on 76th Street

Designer Shoe Warehouse and LongHorn Steakhouse, both in Greendale, are scheduled for April openings.

Consumers on the 76th Street corridor will soon have two new stops to add to their itinerary.

Seven months after getting approval from the Village of Greendale to build a new restaurant on 76th Street, LongHorn Steakhouse is nearing completion.

A customer service representative told Patch the restaurant at 5220 S. 76th St. was on track to open in late April.

Signage went up on the exterior of the building earlier this week, and according to the company’s website, the restaurant is hiring bartenders, servers, line cooks and other positions.

When the restaurant opens, it will hold hours of 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.

In addition, Designer Shoe Warehouse, or DSW, is scheduled to open in the former Borders bookstore building, 5250 S. 76th St., on April 18, according to flyers posted on the building.

Interior building renovations began in December after the temporary Halloween Express moved out.

Flyers also indicate the store is hiring. Those interested are to apply online.
