Temporary Halloween Costume, Supply Store Now Open

Halloween City, a temporary nationwide retail chain, opened Wednesday at 6102 W. Layton Ave. in the Greenfield Towne Center.

It’s that time again: Spider Man, Batman or Iron Man?

No, it’s not a battle for super hero movie supremacy. Instead, it’s the annual debate about which Halloween costume you should dress your child in.

And with the festive holiday quickly approaching, Halloween City has opened in Greenfield just in time to help those agonizing over costumes, decorations and other tricks or treats.

The temporary nationwide retail chain opened Wednesday at 6102 W. Layton Ave. in the Greenfield Towne Center, which also houses the Armed Forces Career Center and is directly across the street from Wendt’s.

That portion of the center has been vacant for some time and used to be home to West Marine, which is now located on 76th Street.

Halloween City is located just a few miles away from Halloween Express, which opened in the former Borders building on 76th Street in August. Halloween Express used to be located at 4251 S. 27th St. before owner Jon Majdoch turned that warehouse space into Lightspeed, which features indoor electric go-karts and lasertag.

Halloween City is open Sunday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The store is expected to remain open until a few days after Halloween.
