Have You Resolved To Get More Involved?

The Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center has many volunteer opportunities available to help you keep that New Years resolution.

The animals need you! The Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center provides a wide range of volunteer opportunities for all levels of commitment.

Cat socializer: Help cats at the Center develop and/or maintain appropriate social behavior to prepare them for transition into adoptive homes.

Customer service: Greet and engage visitors to the Center. Provide shelter tours, answer questions, and assist with administrative duties as needed.

Special Events: The Center holds and participates in several events throughout the year. These fun opportunities are a great way to benefit the animals while sharing your passion for rescue with the public.

Fundraiser: Everyone can be a fundraiser! Help raise money for the continued care of the animals in the Center's adoption program by participating in any (or all!) of the fundraising efforts that take place year-round.

Foster care: All of the Center's adoptable dogs are housed in volunteer foster homes, and the occasional cat foster is needed for injured, ill, or pregnant cats, or for overflow. If you have the space and are interested in learning more about opening your heart and your home to animals in need, please email info@milwaukeearc.org for more information about becoming a foster parent.

Volunteers must be 18 years old to work independently. Volunteers ages 16-18 are required to serve with a parent or legal guardian, but are eligible to graduate to independent service pending review. All volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times during service.

Interested in applying? Download the volunteer application here!  Mail, fax, or drop off your completed application at the Center during open hours.
