Ready for Some Football? High School Season Begins Friday

The 2012 high school football season begins Friday with both local teams taking on teams from the opposite Woodland Conference division.

It might reach a blistering 90 degrees Friday, but the unofficial start of fall begins at 7 p.m. when the Greenfield and Whitnall varsity football teams kick off their 2012 seasons.

The Whitnall Falcons play at 7 p.m. at New Berlin Eisenhower, where former Whitnall coach . Earlier this month, with first-year Whitnall coach Jeff Wallack.

The Hawks host Pewaukee, a team . Kick-off is also at 7 p.m., and last week, Greenfield coach Scott Otto .

Greenfield NOW previewed the Hustlin' Hawks' and Falcons' seasons earlier this week. Otto pointed out his team's improved depth, and Wallack said the improvement of a young defensive unit will be important.
