Dave Richlen Leaving Greenfield School Board

He and his family will be moving to Franklin in the coming weeks, leaving a vacancy on the Greenfield School Board.

Greenfield School Board member Dave Richlen will be leaving his post later this month or in early July once the sale of his family’s Greenfield home is complete.

Richlen announced to the School Board on Monday that he will be moving to Franklin.

“It’s been a lot of fun,” Richlen said. “I’ve enjoyed working with you guys, even the other board members who aren’t here. , we still, I thought, treated each other, really, really decent.”

Richlen’s home was for sale in 2011 but did not sell, but a motivated buyer from Texas is ready to move in.

Monday’s meeting may have been Richlen’s last. If not, the June 25 meeting will be his last appearance on the board after being elected in 2010. His term was set to expire in April 2013.

Richlen said being a board member was a lot more involved than he thought it would be.

“It’s hard being on the board,” he said. “It’s hard to balance the concerns of the teachers, the administrators and the citizens and try to make everybody somewhat happy. It’s not an easy task. “

According to assistant superintendent Todd Bugnacki, the School Board will review applications of candidates and select a replacement to serve out the remainder of Richlen’s term.
