Students and staff at Edgewood Elementary School recently planted a school garden, creating an official Monarch waystation certified with the Monarch Watch, an educational outreach program based at the University of Kansas.
The waystation includes planted milkweed, a favorite among Monarchs.
In addition, students and staff also planted daffodils donated from Longfield Gardens and perennial plants donated by Bluemel's Garden Center.
