“I want our teachers to want to work in a district that strives for excellence,” he added. “I’m all about our exceptional teachers. There’s a lot of apprehension and fear of the unknown. What I’m working toward is making everyone comfortable with the process.”
Anderson said the other big issue facing the board is the state budget and its impact on the district's.

“There’s a $3.6 billion shortfall in the state," he said. "We’re going to be hit with part of that. We need to manage it properly to not decrease programing or staffing.
“We’ve got to work with our teachers to show that it can be done together. It’s just going to take leadership and that’s what I bring to the table."
