Conflict Without Fear

Do you hate dealing with conflict? Can you think of a time (or two) when you wished you would have dealt better with a conflict situation? Most people can answer “yes” to these questions. Conflict is a reality in our lives — at work, with friends, with family — yet most of us don’t deal with it well. In this session, we’ll explore some of the causes of interpersonal conflict, why we avoid conflict and practical ways to deal with conflict for more peaceful and balanced lives. This session is based on the book The Coward’s Guide to Conflict: Empowering Solutions for Those Who Would Rather Run Than Fight, Tim Ursiny, PhD (2003).  The book is not a requirement, but may be helpful to those who want to continue working on strengthening their conflict management skills beyond class. It can be purchased on Amazon.com or copies will be available from the instructor for $10.00 each.
