Greenfield Football Team Qualifies for Playoffs With Homecoming Win

The Hustlin' Hawks pick up their fourth victory by beating Wauwatosa West, 31-7, Friday.

The 2011 Greenfield football team is on the verge of doing something that hasn't been done in nine years.

With a 31-7 homecoming win over visiting Wauwatosa West on Friday, the Hustlin' Hawks improved to 4-2 in the Woodland Conference (4-3 overall), assuring themselves of a .500 record or better in league play.

To play in the WIAA postseason, which the Hawks have not done since 2002, a team must finish at least .500 or better in conference games.

The Hawks outscored the Trojans, 28-0, in the second half, according to a Greenfield NOW story.

Wauwatosa West fell to 1-6 overall and 1-5 in the Woodland.
