High School Athletic Field Improvements on District's To-Do List

Greenfield School District administrators identified a handful of projects they'd like to tackle before the end of the 2012-13 fiscal year. Many of them are at the high school.

It likely pales in comparison to that of the Greenfield School District.

Interim business director Ronald Nortier and interim Superintendent David Ewald have prioritized a list of 15 projects they believe the district can tackle before their brief tenures conclude June 30.

  • replace both boilers and chiller, which are original to the building;
  • finish ceiling replacement in remaining classrooms.

High School:

  • track maintenance;
  • baseball diamond maintenance;
  • aerate, reseed and fertilize various athletic fields, including the soccer field;
  • upgrade softball diamond to WIAA standards with bleachers, scoreboard and dugouts and look at making both it and the baseball diamond handicapped accessible.

Maple Grove Elementary:

  • repair northwest wall section where water is seeping in.

Edgewood Elementary:

  • repaint northwest overhangs.

Elm Dale Elementary:

  • main parking lot repairs;
  • south playground rehab, including the movement of a fire hydrant;
  • step room carpet and floor repair.

District-wide projects include filling cracks in various asphalt locations, purchasing a maintenance truck fro plowing and hauling and roof inspections for all buildings. Roof improvements at the high school, however, if required, would be paid for with leftover referendum funds, Nortier said.
