How Does Greenfield, Whitnall Rate According to Milwaukee Magazine?

Both districts finished in the bottom half of rankings that included 33 public school systems in a five-county area.

This week, was splashed across the front page of Milwaukee Magazine, with a photo of the students decked out in their Blue Dukes spirit gear.

Based on the results of a study done by the magazine, it will be a long time before Whitnall or Greenfield gets the call for a cover shot.

The cover story declared Whitefish Bay as the top-scoring high school in the five-county Milwaukee area based on ACT, WKCE and Advanced Placement test results.

The magazine also ranked school districts overall. In a comparison of 33 K-12 school districts in the five-county Milwaukee area, Mequon-Thiensville topped a list based on high school test scores, as well as standardized test scores from other schools in the district.

So how did Greenfield and Whitnall do? According to the rankings, both schools finished in the bottom half; Whitnall placed 19th and Greenfield 29th. One factor leading to Greenfield's low-ranking no doubt was its composite ACT score of 20.87, the second-lowest in the field and only better than St. Francis' 20.7.
