Michelle Garner Claims Third Straight State Track Title

The Greenfield High School senior claimed the top spot in the 300-meter hurdles Saturday.

The third time was a charm for Greenfield High School senior Michelle Garner.

Just as the second and first times were.

Garner, a Greenfield senior, won the 300-meter hurdles at the WIAA Division 1 State Track and Field Meet on Saturday in La Crosse.

Her time of 43.69 seconds narrowly edged that of La Crosse Logan senior Amber Sanderson, who ran second in 43.75, the only sub-44-second time in the field.

Garner, who also ran 17th in the 100 hurdles, won the 300s .

There were two Whitnall competitors at the state meet.

Whitnall junior Meredith Heller ran third in the 300 hurdles in 48.05. Whitnall senior Greg Stribling ran 21st in the 400 dash in 51.55.
