Preliminary Budget, Teacher Contracts to be Addressed at Greenfield School Board Meeting

Those items highlight tonight's board meeting.

It's budget season, and with everything that's happening in Madison these days, this one should be one of the more interesting ones in recent history.

The Greenfield School Board kicks off its budget talks tonight with a Business Administration Committee meeting at 5:45 p.m. Monday. The committee is expected to discuss the preliminary budget, among other orders of business, and possibly recommend that budget to the School Board at its meeting at 6:30 p.m.

The board is also expected to discuss and possibly approve the district’s transportation contract, teacher contracts and teacher resignations, and might approve a resolution in support of the city’s Safe Routes to Schools initiative.

The Whitnall School Board will also begin its teacher contract negotiations this evening in a special meeting. The meeting begins at 3:15 p.m. in the district's board/community room but the negotiations are expected to begin at 4 p.m.
