Despite being second-in-command before the departure of former Superintendent Conrad Farner, veteran administrator Todd Bugnacki declined an offer by the Greenfield School Board to replace his old boss on an interim basis.

In a statement read at the beginning of Monday’s School Board meeting, Bugnacki, the Director of Educational Services, thanked the board for considering him but said he decided to stay put in his current role.

“I’m grateful for the show of confidence, however, I must respectfully deny the position,” Bugnacki said. “I believe it is in the best interest of the district for me to remain in my current position and help facilitate the hard work of our teachers and administrators.

“It’s a time for rejuvenation and healing as we move forward. I look forward to working with the board and all the members of the Greenfield community during this transitional time to ensure the high quality services we have come to expect.”
