Todd Bugnacki Turns Down Superintendent Position

Todd Bugnacki, the Director of Educational Services, thanked the board for considering him but said he decided to stay put in his current role.

Updated: 8:25 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21

Despite being second-in-command before the departure of former Superintendent Conrad Farner, veteran administrator Todd Bugnacki declined an offer by the Greenfield School Board to replace his old boss on an interim basis.

In a statement read at the beginning of Monday’s School Board meeting, Bugnacki, the Director of Educational Services, thanked the board for considering him but said he decided to stay put in his current role.

“I’m grateful for the show of confidence, however, I must respectfully deny the position,” Bugnacki said. “I believe it is in the best interest of the district for me to remain in my current position and help facilitate the hard work of our teachers and administrators.

“It’s a time for rejuvenation and healing as we move forward. I look forward to working with the board and all the members of the Greenfield community during this transitional time to ensure the high quality services we have come to expect.”

Presumably, he was offered the position in closed session Jan. 14.

Stay tuned to Greenfield Patch for continued updates on this developing story.

Good call, TB. You do not need to further complicate your career with this toxic environment! I'm glad to be in the schools, and not in the politics of this community. "Wow" is definitely the word. :)

Well, the "Tool" definitely gets the last laugh! LMAO.

You showed us, Mr. Bugnacki! People spent all this time worrying about you in the sup position, and you didn't even want it! Seriously, kudos to you for doing what you feel is right for Greenfield. (selflessness?...what a concept)

So who will run the ship on an interim basis?
Matt D January 22, 2013 at 03:46 AM
Fred for school board! Funny how the most pressing issue is left out of the article?? Maybe it was addressed in meeting but left out of article? Dont know, but Fred is right...isnt that the question we were all waiting to have answered?
David Cotey January 22, 2013 at 03:48 AM
Fred, I'll be updating the story late tonight or early tomorrow, but the Board decided to hire an interim superintendent ASAP with the hope of hiring a permanent replacement by June 30. More to come ...

Oh, he wanted it. Was upset it was only interim. This helps him save face. Read between the lines people.
