Week After Greenfield School Board Protests, Similar Scene Plays Out in New Berlin

New Berlin teachers, like those in Greenfield, were displeased with the input they had on their employee handbook.

Protesters from both sides of the aisle. A police presence. Cheers, jeers and chants.

Sound familiar? It should.

One week after with the administrators and School Board at a board meeting Aug. 22, nearly an identical scene played out at New Berlin West High/Middle School on Monday, according to a story in today's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The story said New Berlin school district employees are upset with their lack of input in the new school handbook, which was approved at last night's meeting. Greenfield teachers have had .

One major difference between the two meetings: New Berlin moved its into the school's auditorium a week after Greenfield School Board president .

New Berlin at least had a heads up and had the ability to schedule the meeting place before hand. I think looking back Bruce made the right decision by keeping the meeting in the administration building where the meeting was posted. Remember that Greenfield citizens interested in watching the meeting on tv would not have had that opportunity if the meeting had been moved. I'm glad Bruce is looking out for the Greenfield residents first before protestors from outside the district.

By the way its not always easy to make decisions when protestors are screaming at you from the top of their lungs. If I was shouted at like Bruce was, I would have ignored the protestors demands as well.

I think another 'major difference' between the two meetings is the number of Walker supporters that turned out for the meeting. It looked like the pro-union guys walked out before the vote even took place...

Heads up, Greenfield taxpayers! It looks like WEAC is planning to again pack the Greenfield School Board meeting with OUTSIDERS on Monday, September 12th. The meeting will be held, as usual, in the meeting room in the Greenfield School District office located on the northwest corner of the high school the evening of September 12th. There is "chatter" on a variety of WEAC-affiliated websites trying to organize this intrusion for the night of the 12th. Being forewarned is being forearmed, as the saying goes. Do you want OUTSIDERS distorting our school district's policies? BE THERE!

Paul was it lonely and dark in the meeting room at the northwest corner of the high school? I'm glad that you finally found the P.A.C.
