Whitnall's Laura Cerletty a Herb Kohl Felowship Recipient

The Whitnall High School teacher was among those honored at Greenfield High School on Saturday.

Whitnall teacher Laura Cerletty was named a Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Scholarship and Fellowship Program fellowship recipient earlier this month and was honored at a ceremony at Greenfield High School on Saturday.

Fellowship recipients are chosen for their superior ability to inspire a love of learning in their students, their ability to motivate others, and for their leadership and service within and outside the classroom.

Cerletty, a Whitnall High School anatomy teacher, was featured by Greenfield Patch in 2012.

Each fellow’s school will receive a $1,000 grant. Excellence Scholarship and Fellowship recipients are selected by a statewide committee composed of civic leaders, and representatives of education-related associations and the program’s co-sponsors: The Wisconsin Newspaper Association Foundation, Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, Wisconsin Council of Religious and Independent Schools, and regional Cooperative Educational Service Agencies.

Cerletty was one of 100 teachers to earn the $1,000 grant this year from the Herb Kohl Foundation. In addition, 187 students earned the $1,000 Excellence Scholarship.
