Co-op Gymastics Team Wins Third Straight Title

The Franklin Combined team, which includes gymnasts from Whitnall, set a state record in taking home another championship.

The Franklin Combined gymnastics team, which includes gymnasts from Oak Creek, Muskego, Whitnall and Franklin, has won its third straight state title.

And that's not all—they did it by setting a state record score of 150.516, beating the previous mark of 148.833.

The team, which features Whitnall seniors Lauren Zurowski and Rachel Tillman, fought off Burlington Co-op to win the 10-team meet Saturday at Wisconsin Rapids. See the Journal Sentinel for more coverage.

One day earlier, Zurowski, the 2011 vault champion, tied for first in the individual floor exercise with Molly Benavides of the Burlington co-op. Both had identical scores of 9.6.
