Daily Sports Beat: Falcons Forge Three-Way Tie

Whitnall, Eisenhower and South Milwaukee all tied atop Woodland Black Division standings.

The Whitnall basketball team forced a three-way tie atop the Woodland Conference Black Division standings by knocking off host New Berlin Eisenhower, 58-54, Friday.

Whitnall (14-7 overall), Eisenhower and South Milwaukee all own 12-4 league records with just one game remaining, and all three squads play the bottom three teams in the standing in their finales Wednesday.

Whitnall hosts Greendale (3-13 conference) and Eisenhower hosts Greenfield (3-13), while South Milwaukee has the toughest of the three opponents, a road game at Wauwatosa West (10-6).

In the win over Eisenhower, Whitnall’s Stephen Pelkofer scored a game-high 24 points and Bryan Nagy chipped in 11 to help offset Eisenhower’s Reed Timmer’s 21 and Keith Kahlfeldt’s 20.

The Falcons struggled again offensively and could not keep pace with first-place New Berlin Eisenhower in a 50-26 home loss Friday.

The Lions’ Nicole Bauman scored 14 points to help knock the Falcons to 9-10 overall, 7-8 conference.

Greenfield girls basketball

Ellie Pusheck poured in 17 points and three of her teammates had nine points apiece as visiting South Milwaukee defeated the Hustlin’ Hawks, 66-40, Friday.

Kristina Vidakovich had nine points for Greenfield (7-12, 4-11).

Greenfield boys basketball

Despite 20 points from Ricky Santiago and 12 by Evan Greco, the Hustlin’ Hawks (4-17, 3-13) lost at South Milwaukee, 76-62, Friday.
