Fundraiser for Hales Corners Ice Center Approaching

The Alyson Dudek International Ice Center, an Olympic-sized, outdoor ice rink, will be located in Hales Corners Park. It is expected to cost $150,000 to build.

Fundraising for the Alyson Dudek International Ice Center is in full swing, with a special event fast approaching.

The Friends of Hales Corners Park & Pool will host a fundraising event on Saturday, March 23, from 6-9 p.m., at Finn McGuire’s, 5170 S. 108th St., Hales Corners. For donations of $20 per person and $30 per couple, guests can enjoy soda, hor d’oeuvres, door prizes and games.

Special guests will include 630 WTMJ radio personality Gene Mueller, TMJ4 sports anchor Lance Allan and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel sportswriter Gary D’Amato.

The Alyson Dudek International Ice Center is a 100-foot by 200-foot Olympic-sized, outdoor skating rink to be built in Hales Corners Park behind the Hales Corners Pool.

Estimated costs for building the ice center are $150,000; to date, fundraising efforts have secured $28,000. Those behind the project hope to open the center in December 2013.
