Greenfield Teen Wins State's MLB Pitch, Hit and Run Competition

Alyssa Vilkoski, who will be in eighth grade this fall, won a local and sectional competition before earning the state's top award at Miller Park on June 23.

Baseball is often called a game of inches, and there’s a good chance a Greenfield teenager came within just a few of them from getting an invite to Major League Baseball’s All-Star week later this month.

Alyssa Vilkoski, earned the state of Wisconsin’s highest score in the 13/14 year-old division of the MLB Pitch, Hit and Run competition this spring and summer.

Alyssa’s run started April 27, at a local level competition at Greenfield High School. She then won the sectional title before placing first in the state round at Miller Park on June 23.
