Greenfield Whitnall Tennis Teams Competing in Subsectionals Today

Players from both schools are hoping to advance to Thursday's sectional meets.

The Whitnall and Greenfield boys tennis teams will attempt to keep their seasons alive at WIAA subsectional meets today.

The Greenfield Hustlin’ Hawks are hosting Marquette, Milwaukee Bay View/Lifelong Learning, Milwaukee Hamilton, Milwaukee Ronald Reagan, Milwaukee South/Bradley Tech and Pius XI in a meet that began at 8 a.m.

Whitnall is at the Greendale Subsectional, which began at 9 a.m. There, the Falcons will square off with Franklin, Muskego, Oak Creek, South Milwaukee and the host school.

Those reaching the semifinals at first singles or doubles and those reaching the finals in second, third and fourth singles and second and third doubles at either subsectional advance to sectional meets. Greenfield is playing host to its sectional at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, and Whitnall, if advancing, would play in the Greendale Sectional at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Once at sectionals, the top four flight finishers at first singles and doubles and the top finisher at second singles and doubles automatically advance to state.
