Hawks Stay Tied Atop Woodland Football Standings

Meanwhile, the Whitnall Falcons struggled offensively against unbeaten South Milwaukee and fell to 1-4 overall.

With a wild and crazy 48-41 homecoming victory over St. Francis on Friday, the Greenfield Hustlin' Hawks football team kept pace with the South Milwaukee Rockets to set up a first-place showdown next week.

The Hawks improved to 3-2 overall and 3-0 in the Woodland Conference East and will play host to the unbeaten Rockets (5-0, 3-0) at 7 p.m. Friday.

In Friday's win over St. Francis, Xavier Copeland continued to make big plays for the Hawks, this time rushing for 114 yards and four touchdowns on just 14 carries.

Quarterback Jeremy Swider was solid, completing six of eight passes with two touchdown tosses. He also added 78 yards and a score on the ground.

The Rockets knocked off Whitnall, 16-6, Friday, dropping the Falcons to 1-4 overall and 1-2 in league play.

The Falcons scored in the first quarter on a short TD run by Michael Kremer but struggled to get much going offensively after that and watched as the Rockets scored 16 unanswered points.

South Milwaukee's Ian Pribyl rushed for 159 yards and two TDs.
