Whitnall Golfer Concludes Season at State

Tyler Zientara competed in his first-ever state tournament Monday and Tuesday.

One day after shooting an 83 and tying for 49th place, Whitnall senior Tyler Zientara shot a 14-over-par 86 and slipped into a tie for 55th at the WIAA State Golf Tournament.

Zientara, making his first-ever state tournament appearance, finished with a 25-over-par 169 at the two-day event at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison Monday and Tuesday.

He birdied the par-4, 354-yard fourth hole Tuesday after getting a birdie on the par-3 192-yard No. 17 on Monday.

Onalaska's Ben Skogen won the meet with a 145, two strokes better than Marquette's Jack McKinney, and Middleton won the team tournament.
