MKEFFB - Patch's Fantasty Football Blog - 2011 - Week 14

MKEFFB Patch's Fantasy Football Blog 2011 Week 14

So, we'll start with a question.  What type of scoring format do you prefer?  Head-to-Head, Total Points, or Rotisserie?

My favorite is Head-to-Head by far.  I've never been very good at Rotisserie. Your thoughts?

I was fighting for my playoff life in the league that I run as commish. It was a head-to-head match-up and I am going to blame Cam Newton's 40 points in that league as the sole reason I lost. My team, Robert Wuhl (Arliss, anyone?) is looking forward to next year. Luckily, I'll be able to keep three (Ray Rice, Calvin Johnson, and Dez Bryant) that I absolutely love in a PPR league. I was projected to win by 40 and I lost by 6 (a Megatron garbage-time TD would have closed the deal).  Sometimes it's tough when one player's amazing week just causes heartache for the opponent. But fantasy football is just like that, sometimes you'll have that player that just goes nuts (i.e. 40 pts) and sometimes you'll be on the losing side. Did any of you readers have a similar experience this weekend?

Q&A

I somehow snuck into the playoffs even though my #1 QB, Matt Schaub, went down. What are some options at QB this week?

Find out what's happening in Greenfieldwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Carson Palmer, the Packers give up a ton of points to opposing QBs and WRs.

Mark Sanchez, He has looked a lot better, especially in the 4th quarters as of late.  The Chiefs give him a pretty solid match-up too.

Dan Orlovsky? No. He played well last week against the Patriots, but the Ravens have a much, much better pass defense, don't do it.

Rex Grossman...I hate to say it, the Patriots are the 32nd ranked pass defense, so Rex could have a start-worthy day.  Although, Mark Sanchez looked terrible against this defense only a few weeks ago.

Who should I curb my expectations for?

First off, make sure you don't accidentally start Fred Davis, he's suspended.

AJ Green, The Texans are tough on defense this year.

Panthers RBs, Falcons are good against the run and the carries are split up far too equally.

That's all I have this week. Post your questions in the comments and I'll provide as much insight as I can.

Good luck in your fantasy playoffs!

Steve
